Our wines are made with a selection of grapes from some of the oldest vineyards in La Rioja and are aged unhurriedly in barrels made of European oaks from the Caucasus, Allier and Nevers.

OUR INHERITANCE

The surname Pina is directly derived from the name of the village Peñafiel and has been associated with wine for over two millennia dating back to Pre-Roman times.
The Chairman Martine Pina has picked up the baton, putting his family wine-making and grape-growing tradition into an ultra-modern winery, which has left a traditional mark on the international wine-making community.
The proof lays in its wine-grower members who control over 550 hectares of vineyards devoted to Viña Alday and produce grapes of the highest quality.

ONE WINERY, ONE FAMILY, VIÑA ALDAY

Founded in 1947 in the village of ….. in La Rioja, the winery began its work making wines with grapes from the surrounding area. Today, the third generation of the family has joined the business and we now have two wineries, one in our home village producing Rioja appellation wine and the other in the village of Fuentespina, producing wine from the Ribera del Duero appellation. At Viña Alday, we feel bewitched by the land, its roots, its strength and energy.... We admire its infinite wisdom, allowing it all the time it needs and learning from its life cycles and rhythms. Our greatest ambition is to live side by side with nature, protecting it, looking after it and caring for its every whim, so as to conserve it for the future and enjoy the full taste of its fruit.

When Viña Alday became part of the Pina Alday family in 1947, they laid the foundations for the creation of wine. Since then, business has been growing at a steady solid rate, with new wines from different wine areas, the interest of new consumers from all over the world and the establishment of a strong base for a promising, very successful future.
